Sand & Lost Wax Casting

Sand Casting

Black River currently makes sand castings for the health and fitness, oil and gas industry, and shipping industries.


Some unique advantages of the process include:


  • Almost no size, weight or shape limits
  • Low tooling cost
  • Good lead times
  • All alloys

Lost Wax Casting

For products with higher cosmetic and strength requirements, we prefer to use lost wax casting, typically in stainless 304. 316 or brass.


This technology can produce precise and complex products in net and near net shape, which can be directly used without machining or after just a little machining.


We use this process for our marine hardware, backflow valve bodies, and equestrian hardware projects.
